Court Bookings and ChargesMore and more members have been discovering the joys of on-line booking. It is convenient to be able to look form the home or office to see where there are empty courts or potential opponents with question marks. A brief reminder follows of some of the rules for booking.Members can book on line for the current week and the following two weeks. On the first day that a new week becomes available, members are only allowed to reserve one court for that new week. Members can hold one advance court at any one time for competition matches etc, to be booked via the pros. Cancellations less than 48 hours in advance must be paid for in full unless the court is re-let. The computer program will not allow you to cancel unless there are at least two full calendar days before your booking but you can still avoid being charged by asking the pros to cancel the court for you. NB Please do not cancel a court on-line without first notifying your opponent and ascertaining whether they still wish to keep the court. Hire rackets are NOT a free service and if you use one of the rackets on court, you should place an ‘R’ against your name on the daily paper booking sheet by the Pro Shop. The standard of rackets provided will only improve if people sign up for using them and don’t disappear with any good rackets that are left out! Charging is currently driven from the paper sheets on the board by the Pro Shop so it is important that the correct names appear on these sheets. At the moment too many people are failing to ensure that this happens and may end up being overcharged as a result. A new program is being developed which will charge members’ accounts directly from the on-line booking system, but this is probably still a few months away yet. Each member has an individual account maintained in Sage. A full list of members and the state of their accounts at the first of each month is posted on the notice board. If you wish to see the individual entries in your account, just ask the Pros for a print-out. |
